Honestly, Mean Girl Or Not? part 2

Max was not in the mood for The Parlour and suggested that we head over to my God mother’s house were my little God sister was having a get together to celebrate her 21st birthday. Everyone except Trina and her friends were all in agreement so the rest of us proceeded to celebrate with my God sister Fabby, which is what I have been calling her since she was a toddler. We make one last stop to at the Liquor store so that we do not arrive empty handed. When we arrive you hear a loud scream as Fabby runs towards as to greet us with a big hug and kiss. “I’m so glad you guys came” she said while giving me a big bear hug. “Of course I replied” like this had been my plan all along. “I thought you said that’s your little God sister” whispered my roommate in my ear while staring her down. “She is, my mom are the only shorty’s in this family” I replied while giggling. Fabby is slightly over 6 feet tall so when people see her Amazon woman build they are always a bit shocked.

So we all get settled into the gathering pouring drinks, dancing, and drinking. After a few hours of non-stop partying the mood starts to wind down, the volume of the music begins to lower and dancing is replaced with a circle of people joking and chatting about random topics. Fabby’s best friend blurted out in her very high pitch voice that she had taken 10 pain relievers before arriving and was in need of more. Everyone looked at her like she had lost her mind, so she then went on to explain. Fabby and her best friend Cristina have been friends all their lives which means I’ve known her all her life as well. I always thought this girl was a little off her rocker but in the past I felt she was too young and impressionable to say anything to her about it. Well tonight was a different story and I was just tired of hearing random craziness blurted out her lips with no reaction.

I looked Cristina in the eye with a smile on my face and I asked her “Have you ever realized that sometimes, as a matter of fact most of the time you say things to cause everyone around you to look at you like your crazy?” As I said this it seemed like everyone around us either got very quiet or burst into laughter. Cristina appeared lost at my question “Really” she asked with a puzzled look on her face. I kneeled before her and held her hands so all her attention was on me and not those around us. You see I was genuinely curious and not trying to make fun of her at all. “Don’t pay any attention to them they are just being stupid” I said while everyone continued to laugh. “I want to know if you really are oblivious to the fact that when you say things like you do in your high pitch baby voice people look at you like your nuts, even those who hang out with you every day. I mean if you really don’t know, then I Love you because you really mean no harm and are in ignorant bliss of the fact that it drives everyone else nuts”. Cristina looked a Fabby with a look on her face that made it obvious that she wanted her to confirm what I had been saying. Fabby nodded her head and said “Yesss”. Cristina went on to let us know that she really didn’t know and asked me what she should do. I went on to tell her that she shouldn’t change a thing because that’s who she is and everyone will just have to accept it. “I’m just someone who is brave enough to ask you what everyone is thinking because it’s not right that no one has ever told you. She gave me a big hug and thanked me for my honesty. After all that Cristina and I headed outside to share a smoke and chat about fashion and men.

The rest of the group made their way outside as well. “You’re a Mean Girl” whispered Marx in my ear as he walked by all smiles. “Never, just always honest and it’s always all love” I replied. Marx and I headed home where Harrison was hanging out while we were out and about. “So how did it go?” Harrison asked Marx. Marx went on and on for the next 30 minutes giving Harrison a play by play run down on everything I had said and how because of how I approached the situation Cristina loved me for it and looked up to me in the end.
