What are registered/SmartDial numbers?

So my Fabulous Support Team has asked me to write this blog today because they are getting a lot of emails about how to get started with StanaCard. It’s really simple but for this blog I am going to really get in depth about how to get started. So hopefully I will answer all your questions. Let’s Go:

1. After you have signed up and received an email with your login information, go the website and login.
2. Once you have logged in you will see your account home page. On this page you will find your registered numbers, smartdial numbers, call log, credit transactions and also your referral history.

a. Registered Numbers: These are the numbers that you make calls from. Please remember you are not permitted to add numbers that do not belong to you (i.e. friends, relatives, wife, husband, mother, child) If you add a number that does not belong to you and then that person wants to open their own account, they will not be able to. Their number is permanently on your account whether you delete it or not. So do them a favor and just ask them to open their own account. It’s a win win because you get money for it and so do they.

b. Smartdial Numbers: These are the numbers that are set up for you to call your international friends. This is a local number that you dial instead of the long international number. Now remember that your cell phone provider will charge you minutes if you do not have unlimited talk time. If you are calling from a land line make sure that the local number we give you will not make you incur any other charges. Always check with your phone provider if you are unsure.
There are no local numbers for my area.
That’s ok. When you use your cell phone long distance is free or charged just like a local call. So you can choose any local number. Some areas also consider other area codes as local, so if you are calling from a land line you can always check with your phone provider. If none of this is true for you then you can always use our toll free number found on our access numbers page. Just remember that those calls cost two cents more.

3. So now let’s make a call. Dial the local smartdial number that we have given you for the international friend you wish to call. You will then here a few prompts telling you your balance and letting you know you are going to be connected. Then you talk. It's that Simple. If you have not set up any smartdial number yet, follows these directions:

a. Click the add or change button under the smartdial column
b. Follow the directions to adding a number
c. Then click add number
d. Double check to make sure you entered the correct number

Don’t forget to read my other blog posts for any other questions you might have about making a call. Happy Calling
